Connecting received demo kit
Thank you for ordering the demo kit. Our goal is to showcase all the features we offer and help you test the system in your environment and on your devices.
How to properly connect the Demo Kit
LAN Ports
The demo kit includes two labelled LAN ports:
Management Port (mng or public): This port is used exclusively for yours/ours server access. It is configured as a DHCP client, so your router will assign it an IP address automatically.
IPTV Port: This port is for connecting devices like STBs and Smart TVs. It is pre-configured with a static IP address (192.168.200.254) and has DHCP enabled. You should connect your STBs and Smart TVs to this port. If you plan to connect multiple devices simultaneously, you can add a switch, but we recommend testing the system without it first to avoid potential configuration issues.
The management and IPTV networks are separate. While it is possible to use a single network, this requires advanced configuration. In 95% of our projects, separate networks are used for management and IPTV.
Power Cables and HDMI
Each STB and the server come with their respective power cables. Ensure you match the connectors to the correct devices. The HDMI cable connects the STB to the TV. Any additional RS232 or IR dongle included is for communication between the TV and the STB.
Accessing the IPTV Manager
Option 1: Contact us at support@nevron.eu to help you identify the management IP address assigned to the demo kit by your router. We have a DW service tool installed on the server, which allows us to remotely connect and check the IP address (If server has internet). If we're able to retrieve the IP from the management port, we'll provide it to you so you can access the IPTV manager directly through your browser on your laptop.
If we’re unable to detect the IP remotely, you’ll need to connect a screen and mouse to the server and check the IP address manually.
Option 2: To access the IPTV manager, connect a keyboard, mouse, and screen to the demo kit to view the Linux dashboard. For login credentials, please contact us separately at support@nevron.eu.
Once you gain access to the server, navigate to the top left corner of the screen and click on the Applications menu. From there, select System or Terminal to open the SSH terminal. In the terminal, type the command ifconfig
This command will display the IP address that your router has assigned to the demo server.
Follow the guides below how to open the manager after you got the IP.
